I wrote a book inspired by a conversation with my son

During a car ride home with my son, I had a wonderful conversation with my son. He was asking some pretty interesting questions, and I sort of egged him on with equally ridiculous answers.

Son: "Mama, what if I were too big for the car?"
Me: "Then I'd get a school bus"
Son: "What if I were too big for a school bus?"
Me: "Then I'd get a rocket ship."
Son: "What if I were too big for a rocket ship?"
Me: "Then we'd move to Mars."

The hilarity ensued for the whole car ride home and as soon as we got in the house, I penned down our conversation with sketches and read our conversation back to him in book form for his bedtime story. My husband walked by, heard and saw the book and exclaimed, "You should publish that book!" It was an idea that was firmly planted in my brain and I've run with it ever since.

Looking back, I'm so glad that I didn't cut that conversation short with my son. That night, I believe I cultivated the imagination of my child, one of the best things a parent can do. My hope is that this book would encourage children and parents to have fun conversations and they would encourage the other to imagine, think, and dream BIG!
